Ripon’s local amateur orchestra provides playing opportunities for a wide range of local musicians.  Directed by Xenophon Kelsey, they enjoy rehearsing and performing a wide range of music in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Members benefit from Xen’s extensive international experience as a composer, arranger, conductor and instrumentalist. Significantly his unusual wealth of knowledge as both string and wind player is a huge source of support for players of all abilities. We are always on the look-out for new members be they young instrumentalists looking for an outlet for their talents, those who have not played for many years or those who have decided to take up an instrument in later life.

Rehearsal take place on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm -9.30pm at Bishop Monkton Village Hall.

Players need to be capable of playing at grade 3 or 4 upwards and new members are very welcome.
